Inverter Air Conditioner - Making the Right Choice

In choosing whether to get an inverter air conditioner or a conventional air conditioner, the kind of usage you intend for your air conditioner.  While it is very costly to run an inverter air conditioner on full load, homes that run on partial load could benefit from using this kind of air conditioner.  Air conditioners were invented by an Engineering graduate from Cornell University with the intention of controlling the temperature and humidity in the printing plant he worked at.  It was a couple of decades later when using air conditioners for commercial rather than industrial purposes started.  The earliest establishments to use air conditioners included department stores, and movie theaters.  Smaller units for residential use were soon put to production.

The inverter air conditioner is a recent innovation that involves a conditioning unit that constantly runs as opposed to the on and off running of the conventional air conditioner.  A conventional air conditioner usually turns off when the desired temperature is reached and then starts again when it gets to be too warm.  Such stopping and running over and over again uses up much energy and puts too much pressure on your air conditioner.  Energy bills are higher and maintenance costs could be quite expensive with the conventional air condition.  Using an inverter, you can take advantage of about 30% in savings on your electricity bills.

When you are scouting around for the right air conditioner to buy, make sure that you look around first and make a short-list of your options.  Then, get the specifications of each unit and compare each one side-by-side, apples to apples.  The most important factors to look at when comparing air conditioners are its size and its energy efficiency.  Getting an air conditioner unit that is not designed to cool a room as large as yours will cause your unit to run harder and use up more energy – even if you have an inverter unit, your energy bill will likely shoot up.  Not all inverters have the highest efficiency ratings.  Consult the product markings and compare ratings before deciding on your purchase.
